Educators from Saint Ursula School in Jakarta, Indonesia, have immersed themselves in BCE schools this week, embarking on an exciting opportunity to fostering international ties and educational development.

Hailing from the Ursuline Sisters of Indonesian Province, the teachers who educate students from Kindergarten to Year 12 enriched their expertise in Catholic education through a number of school visits and engaging with BCE leadership.

The primary goal of their school visits was to gather practical strategies and observations to integrate into their own teaching methodologies back in Indonesia.

The teachers visited St William’s Primary School Grovely, San Sisto College Carina, and Assisi Catholic College Upper Coomera. In addition to school visits, the educators delved into the rich tapestry of First Nation culture with a visit to the Ngutana-Lui Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Studies Centre

Reflecting on this collaborative endeavour, Brisbane Catholic Education Head of School Progress and Performance Derek Maclean emphasised the importance of leveraging international networks to enhance educational practices.

"Catholic Education transcends geographical boundaries," he said.

"By nurturing these international relationships, we strengthen our collective expertise and reaffirm our commitment to serving students within our Catholic communities.

“BCE and Saint Ursula School anticipate fruitful exchanges in the future that will leave a lasting impact on educators and students alike, bridging continents in pursuit of educational excellence.”
